The therapeutic aspect of carbon dioxide is capillarectasia, arteriectasia and dilatation of blood vessels due to production of bodies similar to histamine and acetylocholine at the skin-level. It effects in lowering the blood pressure (both the normal and caused by illness). The process does not require any additional heat source as CO₂ lowers the sensitivity of cold receptors while stimulating the heat receptors. Blood capillaries open by 300%; the congestion of CO₂ affected skin reaches 600%. The dry CO₂ treatments are recommended to patients with heart or brain blood vessels diseases where additional hydrostatic pressure and temperature present in "wet" CO₂ baths are not allowed.
